Professor Yuri KATO Receives 2014 Shimada Kinji Memorial Prize

Professor Yuri KATO of the Doctoral Program in Literature and Linguistics received 2014 Shimada Kinji Memorial Prize for her book, "On Japanese Translations of Russian Literature during the Meiji Era" (Toyo-Shoten, 2014). Shimada Kinji Memorial Prize is awarded annually for distinguished scholarship in the fields of Comparative Literature and Culture. Professor Kato’s book is based on her eponymous dissertation, for which she received her Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo in February 2011. Publication of her book is sponsored by JSPS Grant-in-Aid.
