The Master’s and Doctoral Program in International and Advanced Japanese Studies is the newest graduate program in the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences. This hybrid program is made up from disciplines in the humanities, social sciences and Japanese language pedagogy forming the foundations of educational and research training at the graduate level. The program is made up of four degree programs: 1) International Japanese Social Studies, 2) International Japanese Humanities, 3) Japanese Language and Japanese Language Pedagogy and 4) Global Multidisciplinary Studies for Japanese Culture and Society. The Master’s and Doctoral Program in International and Advanced Japanese Studies accepts professionals who wish to continue education and research at the graduate level and also provides accelerated M.A. and Ph.D. courses for professionals. The program’s internationally acclaimed faculty will provide academic guidance at the highest level by the introduction of newly designed intensive education courses and research programs (by which students can graduate from master’s and doctoral courses within three years as the shortest course by permission) and other new courses aimed for professionals wishing to continue education.
